We at iPod Car Pros pride ourselves on only offering the BEST ipod kits for your car. All of our kits are "Direct Connect" Non FM adapters offering the best sound quality possible. We have never sold an FM solution before, that is what Best Buy and the Apple Store are for, since they are filled with FM solutions. And we hadn't planned on offering an FM solution until this kit fell in our lap. We are proud to not only introduce, but support and give our STAMP OF APPROVAL to the Dice Electronics FMRDS iPod Kit kit for superior quality and features. The Pros never recommend ANY type of FM solution when a direct connect kit is available, but:

1. If your car is not compatible with one of our vehicle specific ipod adapters, then this solution should be taken seriously. In this circumstance, this kit is highly recommended. iPod Car Pros stocks kits for every car compatible in the market, so if we dont have something for your car, it doesn't exist.
2. If your car is compatible but our vehicle specific kit doesn't display TEXT on your radio, and TEXT is a big deal to you, then this kit is a viable option. Please note - your radio MUST support RDS text. That is the kind of text that show's when listening to an FM radio station. The Pros feel that even this isn't a good enough reason to pass over the vehicle specific kit, but we also understand that some people rank TEXT higher on the list.

YES, it is an FM solution, but its not what you are used to seeing. All FM solutions are "FM Transitters", they transmit a signal to the antenna on the outside of the car. They are made with really cheap parts, thats why the sound is so bad. This is NOT an FM transmitter but an FM modulator that connects directly to the FM Antenna Jack on the radio. For that reason alone, it provides superior audio that you can't get from a cheap FM Transmitter. Dice held nothing back and used only the highest quality components to construct the FMRDS iPod Kit. We have tested this ourselves in over a dozen different cars and this really is the BEST FM solution you will find anywhere in the market. For more details, please see below.

How It Works:

The FMRDS iPod Kit connects into the antenna port on the back of the radio. Because it directly connects, it is able to provide a much higher quality audio from your iPod into your radio. By connecting directly to the antenna, the FMRDS iPod Kit is able to provide the music from your iPod that you are looking for. This is not a direct connect into the radios audio lines, but gets you as close to that as possible. Remember, this kit is only an option if we don't currently have a vehicle specific kit for you.

The FMRDS iPod Kit offers control of the iPod from the iPod itself. There is NO radio or steering wheel controls. You will be able to change tracks, playlists, albums, and chapters ALL from the iPod. And access to your entire music and video collection. No need to worry, your iPod screen and click wheel will NEVER be disabled. You can access 100% of your iPod.

TEXT! - The FMRDS iPod Kit displays text offering even more integration! You have NEVER seen an FM product do this before! You will see the current song Artist – Title right on your radio display. The FMRDS iPod Kit transmits your iPod song info onto the radio using RDS (radio broadcast) text capabilities. You asked for it and we delivered.

The FMRDS iPod Kit offers power to and charging of your iPod while connected. So any trip, long or short you battery will never run out. When you get out of your car, your battery is fully charged and ready to go.

How It Installs:

The Universal iPod Text Kit comes with two options, either the self-install kit that connects quickly and easily to the cigarette plug OR the pro-install kit that connects directly into 12v power in the car. You MUST choose between the 2 kits when ordering. The iPod is accessed on the radio by tuning to the FM station you set when installing the adapter. Tuning into that station will allow the iPod music to play through the vehicle's radio. The self-install kit does NOT require radio removal, we rank the sound quality as good, but not as great as the pro-install. The pro-install kit does require radio removal to access the antenna jack. You will also need to tap the power supply into power and ground. The Universal iPod Text Kit 2 kit options can be installed by the Do-It-Yourselfer type or you can take it to ANY local installer, dealership, Best Buy, etc. If your not comfortable doing it, have a professional handle it.
