USB-POD by PIE

The USB-POD iPod adapter from Precision Interface Electronics directly connects your iPod to your factory or aftermerket radio without the use of FM. You get HD quality sound, power/charging and control from the iPod buttons and click wheel - ALL from one cable. Toss out your fuzzy FM Transmitters and directly connect the USB-POD to your radio to experience your iPod music in HD.

  • HD Quality Sound / NO FM
  • Powers & Charges iPod
  • iPod Screen & Click Wheel Stay Unlocked
  • iPod compatible / iPhone. (See chart below)
  • Retains Factory Look, Plug and Play
  • 1 Year Warranty / Free Tech Support
  • This adapter does not offer Radio & Steering Wheel Control

How It Works:

The USB-POD connects directly into the USB plug in your vehicle. Because it directly connects, it is able to stream HD quality audio from your iPod into your radio similar to how a CD Changer works. By connecting directly to the radio, the USB-POD is able to provide the digital quality music from your iPod that you are looking for. Absolutely NO FM transmission ever again for you and your car.

The USB-POD offers control of the iPod music based on the USB inputs capabilities. If the USB input is programmed to do text and control, there will be radio or steering wheel controls. This cable ONLY provides the link between your iPod and the input. All the features and control comes from the built in design of the USB inside the radio. If the radio info states that any general USB Cable will connect and work, than this will work great. This cable won't work if your USB input requires a special or proprietary version sold directly by the company making the radio.

The USB-POD offers power to and charging of your iPod while connected. So any trip, long or short you battery will never run out. When you get out of your car, your battery is fully charged and ready to go.

How It Installs:

The USB-POD comes with one simple cable. The USB-POD is plug and play ! Simply access the USB input for the radio and plug in the cable. Route the iPod cable to your desired location and you’re done. The iPod is accessed on the radio by pressing the button that accesses the USB input. It can be installed by the Do-It-Yourselfer type or you can take it to ANY local installer, dealership, Best Buy, etc. If your not comfortable doing it, have a professional handle it. USB-POD comes with everything needed to connect this to your car; there is NOTHING extra to buy.

Once connected, you end up with crystal clear, HD quality sound all while maintaining the clean look of your vehicles interior with one simple cable that connects and powers your iPod. The USB-POD is the ultimate in iPod to car performance and integration.

Compatible with the following devices:

Requirements:

  • Your vehicle MUST have a USB  input somewhere in the car.
    • USB cable will do what the input is designed to do.
      • Some vehicle's USB input's pass audio only, while other's do audio, with full text and control.
    • Don't assume you have a USB input just bc your radio says "AUX". That doesn't mean you have an actual USB input. Physically find the USB. (most vehicles do not have one unless its a newer car)
    • If your radio is FACTORY/STOCK, the back of it does NOT have an USB input. Its going to be on the radio, on the dash, in the glove box, center console or compartment.
  • It is your responsibility to find out what type of cable is needed for your USB input.
    • Will not work with vehicle's that require more than just a USB plug or need a specially designed cable.
    • EX: Some Kia's require a special cable that has USB and another Jack built in and connect together.
    • Consult the radio's manual or maker to see if a special cable is required.
    • If any normal USB cable can be used, this cable should work great.
